Going Genting

March18

Genting, the city of entertainment, (or so the website claims), awaits next week. I am so so excited. More excited about not being at work for three days than anything else. I am even looking forward to the 6 and a half hour bus ride. Glad to be able to wear long pants and not sweat for two and a half days.

Yesterday was Saturday and a jam packed day. I know people like Jupes who manage to fill their social calendars to the brim and still come out of it fresh as a daisy. Unfortunately, I am one of those who come out worse for wear.

I woke up before 8am on Saturday morning to go to the ICA (is it called that?) to get my new passport. We reached there before 9 but my number 2354 was a little far off the 2100 something that was being served. Thankfully, there were plenty of counters and after forty minutes of so of playing Animal Crossing with The laney, (wifi is the best!), I managed to lay hands on my new important document. But not without alot of fuss from the counter lady who was severely agitated about my sweaty palms because I needed to scan my thumbprints or something.

Then it was off to work after brunch at Beach Road hawker centre. It was artic cold at work but thank god the lovely Chiam was there. It was not all fun and games, as incomplete information is simply a pain in the ass.

I met Mich Nai for high tea at Imperial Treasure, introducing her to my favourite kind of instant noodles. Then we did much shopping in 2 hours. Time spent with good girlfriends are golden. Retail therapy + friends = fun!

Dinner at Imperial HERBAL (ugh) for my ah ma’s birthday dinner. I never spent much time with my cousins but it does not seem such a bad thing to me. Even though I did not have many friends and spent much time alone growing up. But it is fun when we hang out, especially when gurkhason is around.
