Some guilty pleasures are alright to be publicised. Like an unhealthy obsession with all things Hello Kitty. Other guilty pleasures are just quite embarrassing.

I am obsessed with Hongkong TVB dramas. Ever since we got Channel 55 on cable teevee, I have never looked back. I cannot remember the last TCS Channel 8 drama serial I watched in an entirety. I feel very sad to think that tax payer’s money are going to produce this utter drivel.

I love Hongkong drama actors and actresses (save for Charmaine and Linda and Tavia) (that is like everyone right now). But sometimes the stories leave you wanting for another development. So that is where reading absurd Fan Fiction written probably by Chinese teenagers growing up in ang moh countries who still get their dose of TVB dramas comes in. Yes, I read Fan Fiction. Totally shameless in loving stories about Lam Fung and Myolie.

It is just like life. You experience it and sometimes just want to change the course of your life. Like watching Lam Fung and Linda Chung together on screen (cue puking sounds). Fan Fiction allows you to play Sims with TVB actors. Plus it’s in English. I still do not understand Cantonese. Yes, I am that sad.
