I never had Dunks before. My only other high cuts are Reeboks. I cannot wait to wear them and they were a steal! 40 smackeroos thanks to discounts and vouchers (technically vouchers are money spent but I was having another usual bad day so allow me to be deluded).
From Reuters: Megha Mittal to buy luxury fashion house Escada.
These wealthy families diversify in the most interesting way. Did you know Lakshmi Mittal’s daughter, Vanisha Mittal is like the richest heiress in the world? I fed one of my managers this fluffy piece of information once. Thanks to E! Entertainment for that useless bit of information.
Here’s hoping Escada works out this time round. Their clothes were really quite pretty and their ready to wear were so preppy pastel country club.
Dizzy gave me my first birthday present this year. A Quote 3 ways leather bag all the way from Bangkok. The bag that got away! They did not have the limited edition patterned ikat-ish bag that I was lusting over but Dizzy’s present to me was a very very close second. A light brown canvas bag with leather handles that you can carry 3 ways, (one, at the crook of your elbow with the bag handle only on one side ala Fendi Peekaboo but with zips, two, over the shoulder with the detachable short strap, three, slung across the body with another detachable longer strap). Oh so clever plus I do not have a light brown bag. (Yes, really!)

What do you do with the sweetest friends in the world? Keep them close to your heart. Thank you Dizzy for my new everyday bag and for your friendship.
To get the latest issue of Lula. Thank God Kinokuniya have been bringing the magazine in. I had been going to various mama shops asking the Indian shop owner whether they have Lula, appearing slightly deranged. Surprisingly, some uncles that I asked knew the magazine, unfortunately, they did not carry it at their shop that carried every teeny boppy fan magazine that teenage Awful loved. At the sweet tag of 20 odd dollars, Lula beats the Japanese magazines in cost and appeal. Although the Japanese ones come with the free gift which I am a sucker for. But Lula is in English. And it is not monthly. Plus, the paper they use is of glorious quality. (My priorities are warped) I hope to find the latest issue on the Kino shelves.
Lula is: ‘Created for people of the world who love fashion, music, art, & make believe. Lula is gentle, whimsical and ethereal in tone, mixing high fashion to fall in love with and interviews that feel like late night chats with people you wish you knew.’
Lula is just like me! Er, and hundreds of girls out there. Think the old school 50s look that Zooey Deschanel is bring back. Poofy full skirts to ride bicycles in. But I am not Gentle and Not Ethereal, more of Devilish. Okay, I confess, Lula is Not like me. Hmmm. I just like to look at the pretty pictures, very very pretty indeed.

Issue 9 of Lula: Karen Elson fronts the latest Lula, apparently there are more red heads inside.
A small white rectangular paper bag sat on the dining table amidst my mess. I use the dining table for my makeshift desk because it is huge and the sunlight floods into the dining area. I am a sucker for natural light. Curious, I picked up the bag to see that it was from Anteprima Plastiq. Woo, excitement coursed through my veins. It was late and I just returned from weekday karaoke with Mr Tay and Xiu Ru.
Out of the bag popped out a small dustbag. Opening the dustbag, I found a pink bubble transparent pouch. Auntie Julie had gifted me with an Anteprima X Hello Kitty handphone charm. The little pink wire bag is a laugh! Just love it. What a lavish present and it made for a pleasant surprise indeed. Auntie Julie is the aunt/godmother I never had. Growing up, I had little contact with my aunties and uncles and was never exposed to surprises like that. In fact, the next morning, when my mother asked me whether I liked the charm, she was also tickled to realise that I knew that the gift was from Auntie Julie and not her. It was not such a feat to guess, considering my mother had no idea what Anteprima or Anteprima Plastiq was.

The Japanese love Anteprima and their plastiq bags. The Creative Director Izumi Ogino is Japanese after all. The fluid minimalism style of their clothes reflects the typical Italian fashion houses. But the bags! I should think the Japanese girls like the wirebags the best. In all sorts of candy colours.
Maybe that should be my next wish list bag! I wonder how comfortable they are to carry, considering the bag is wire and the handles are stiff, then again, I need to go nearer to one. I saw a small one on the arm of one of my Japanese classmates, unfortunately, Singaporeans are not friendly so I could not asked to touch the bag. Heh. So so so cute. The bag. Not Singaporeans.
P.S. Yes, I am so clever, I know how to use Poladroid now. Like a hundred years after other people.
I love animals. Read: I love to wear outfits with animals. I still remember this flamingo top that had me at first sight. A little like this Christopher Kane for Topshop Croc Dress. I saw it on a girl outside Zouk last Friday. It was perfect. This dress is my soul mate. i.e. totally ridiculous. At this point, I would do anything for it. Steal it off someone’s back maybe? Alas, it is Out Of Stock on the websites (both UK and US) and honeys, the Christopher Kane collection is not available in our local Topshop. I know. Such a bitch.

The quest for a new wallet. The hunt for a new purchase always brings an adrenaline rush that only comes with the contribution to the economy (i.e. the spending of money). The candidates? Prada (as always), Balenciaga (I just cannot get enough of my current favourite), a ‘defective’ Miu Miu (with my hoard of bags and what nots, I do not have anything from Prada’s little sister).
Today after a 8 km run with Missy Teo, I made the pilgrimage to Club 21 haven at Hilton to go look at the wallets from Balenciaga. The wallets are not on display so I had to request to have a look at them. They only had two, Money and Giant Money. Giant Money was in Black and Money in a Granite. The Money was softer and prettier but I would like a Giant because of the studs.
Venturing into Mulberry, I laid my hands on a wallet which was half off because of the Great Singapore Sale. A light pink, soft calf leather wallet. However, I have not gone into more detailed research of this wallet because I happen to have my Income Tax bill to pay (more than twice I had to pay last year, taxes are gross) and my Hawaii bill (time to pay my Lululemon dues).
Unemployment can be a bitch. Sometimes I wonder whether buying that red darling little miu miu bag would be able to take away the pain from another two months of being in this job? I do not think so. Thrifty thrifty thrifty?

I found my perfume. Philosophy’s Pure Grace. Off the Philosophy website: ‘or women who want to smell soap and water clean, as if they just stepped out of the shower, we give you pure grace. this infinitely clean fragrance plays on pure soap and water notes that created the purest, cleanest scent imaginable.’
I am not a musky, heavy scent, sensual girl. Definitely not floral notes with romantic undertones. I have outgrown the citrus light dizzy Happy beachy Anna Sui girly sprays.
Perhaps it is odd that I want to smell like ’soap and water clean’. Although I have to admit, I do still adore Vanilla quite a bit. The freshness that engulfs me when the spritz hits my pulse points pleases me extremely. Now if only I can make the little bottle last until someone goes to the States to get me a big bottle.
