I love silly cute things. Techie things. Retro things. Expensive things. Cheapie things. I had to get this. This Casio with a calculator for 19 bucks will be my best friend for sales. Next up, a Casio that has a databank to store telephone numbers. Why? Because I am just weird.

Oh My God. I really really like this.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Lil Riz shoulder bag
Last last Friday night, I rushed to Taka to take a sneak peek at the Stella McCartney for LeSportsac collection. I had been staring at the antique quilted hobo for the longest time online. And I thought it would be the bag to break my ‘in 2008, I am not buying any bag’ resolution. I hate to admit that I want to have anything that is designed Stelle McCartney, considering that her father is not my favourite Beatle but she does have a way of marketing her wares. (Point to consider: Stella McCartney for Adidas)

Luckily I did not buckle down and order the bag online. The bag was Humongous! It could be my overnighter, gym bag, carry on all in one. And it was SGD 770 even though it was USD 350 online. Such was the disappointment. That is why I do not purchase online. Or at least I try not to. (Heh, think Spree by Wang.)
Instead, I wandered over to Marc by Marc Jacobs and balked at the price of the rough cotton bags. Er, yah.
Then I went into Chanel. I never really gone into the shops on the first floor of Ngee Ann City, like LV or Burberry or Loewe. But I saw the pop coloured bags and shoes in the display of Chanel and I wanted to go in to see them. I walked into without The Laney. Looking at the various bags, accessories, watching a tai tai point to something in the catalouge and squealingly begged (I swear she was pleading with him) the sales person to let her have that (?!?!?!?), I saw the ring. The ring that appeared on the pages of Teen Vogue last year was winking at me from the glass display, as a couple of Indonesians looked at the classic metal linked handled Chanel 2.55s. I rushed out to The Laney who was lurking around outside and dragged him in, even with his berms and slippers, whilst clutching his newly purchased handheld vacuum cleaner from Best Denki.
So this is the closet I will get to anything Chanel. I learnt from the salesgirl that the 2.55s’ prices start from a amazing $4,000. (Er, I will stick to my favourite Prada, thank you very much, now the Italy brand seems much more affordable!) But I love love love love it! The pop palette (they have black and white petals too) is so Awfully me. Even though it is plastic (er, maybe ceramic? er maybe not) and exorbitantly priced. However, I would not be so happy with any other ring (think Tiffany’s Atlas (Captain Planet) Ring).

I went for yoga three times last week and played tennis with Sam, Hsing and Jeryl. On the exercise front, I guess I am doing well. Though I have not played tennis since last August and my strokes are totally lost. I got five blisters on my right hand. Sam asked why I did not bring my glove. It is a laugh, sometimes I wear a golf glove to play tennis. As long as I do not get blisters. The weather was brilliant, it was cloudy overhead and then it began to drizzle.
I had lunch with Sam at KFC at Bukit Panjang, then we went to Daily Scoop at Sunset Way. We had nutty macadamia (yum!), lychee martini and chendol (er..). Catching up is always a treat, especially when we have not seen each other in some time. That is something I have always taken for granted, especially living in hall when my friends were only a few steps away.
But the other stuff on my plate is overwhelming and some really distasteful. I am so so so so tired of everything.
Reasons to get this bag:-
+ It is on sale on Bergdorfgoodman.com
+ The exchange rate is low.
+ It is nylon plus black = can throw around like a bag should be (Seow would be so proud)

Of course, after all the excitement, it’s bloody NOT AVAILABLE.
I started the new year with a trip to Zara to buy kid’s sweat pants. At $20 a pop. They may be kid’s clothes but they are adult sized. So obviously my resolve to my resolutions are not going along very well. In addition, these happened to come up on my internet explorer at office. But as long as I do not buy anything, I can look. Materialism = buying (Awful’s definition)
The Dough-Nu-Matic. I mean, come on, it is a Mini Donut Making Machine, fresh donuts any time! “The Dough-Nu-Matic automatically forms, fries and drains delectable mini-doughnuts in just 50 seconds! Great for large parties and ideal for fundraisers since this machine makes easy-to-sell treats for pennies apiece. Makes a dozen doughnuts in under six minutes. Just add dough and the dough-Nu-Matic does the rest.” The only reason I would want a wedding registry (in fact that is the only reason I would have a wedding, so people can give me things) is to put these things on the list and hopefully get them, like a popcorn making machine.

And this Anya Hindmarch lop wash bag (what is a wash bag?). The bunny………… I love animals. (Technically, as long as they are found on bags, shoes, clothes, I love them because I do not sneeze)
I was not really wanting anything much this Christmas (besides the usual unattainable material and unmaterial goods) so my gift from The Laney was this elephant necklaces, one with a picture of a circus elephant and the shorter one with the tag line: will work for peanuts, from local jewellery folks, Killerheels. Which aptly describes my attitude to work to a T. I love elephants too. (besides Monkeys, Pigs, Bunnies, Bambis, actually, I think I rather like animals abit.)

My dear dear Mich sent my birthday present from Auckland and I found a large parcel sitting on my work desk this morning when I came it. Thank you dear girl. I may love bags but good quality paper still is the direct way to my heart.
I got this cute diary (cute is the name).

With a matching pen and pencils.

And rubber bands and pos-its.

All in a pretty box and tied up with a ribbon!
I once asked for this ring. And now I am still thinking of it. I will get it for myself because I can.
But which one?
The mauve?

The antinea?

The cap-ferret?

Or the fucshia?

Decisions decisions decisions.
